FOOD:

  • v Food is an essential substance which is nutritious and gives nourishment to human as well as animals.
  • v Food which consumed by human or animal or plant that absorbs in order to maintain our life and growth.
  • v Food gives nutritional support to an organism and its origin is plants or animal which contains essential nutrients like carbohydrates, protein, fats, vitamins, or minerals.

ADULTERATION:

  • v Adulteration is a term which represents the action of making things poorer in quality by adding poisonous or deleterious substance.
  • v Adulteration in food item tends to increase the quantity which results in loss of actual quality of food item.

ADULTERATED FOOD TO BE DECLARED IF:

  • v Addition of a substance which is injurious to the health.
  • v Addition of substance which are lower in quality.
  • v Abstraction of necessary substance which are valuable.
  • v It is emulation.
  • v Excess color or otherwise treated are added to improve the appearance.
  • v Low quality foods which are below the standard.
